Home Cable and DSl providers typically place restrictions on their clients and limit the amount of available upload bandwidth. Typical results from home connections will be 3 Mbps – 20 Mbps depending on the amount of network traffic for download and 200 Kbps – 500 Kbps for upload. For this reason, it’s recommended that users use home connections predominantly for download purposes where there will be significant speed gains.
