When shooting your images through CaptureOne, you can seamlessly integrate your workflow with GLOBALedit to preserve your ratings and metadata and share with your creative production team.
Use CaptureOne to apply Star ratings and metadata when shooting on set.

When setting up your CaptureOne recipe, click "Advanced" and make sure to check the "Include Ratings and Color Tags" box. This will ensure your ratings and metadata will be included in the outputted JPGs.

When you upload these JPGs to GLOBALedit, the Star ratings will be reflected in the Library, and you can view and further edit your metadata in the Metadata Editor.
Per standard digital capture workflows, you can also use the plus (+) sign to indicate Star ratings. Any file that has 1 to 5 plus signs at the beginning of the filename to indicate an on-set select will populate the corresponding Star rating in GLOBALedit.

Our desks are starting to get crowded! Thanks to AMC for bringing over their new The Walking Dead toys yesterday for our nerdy pleasure. Made by McFarlane Toys and just released at the end of last year, toys Rick Grimes and Darryl Dixon face off against their perpetually undead foes Zombie Biter and Zombie Walker. You can even see Zombie Walker in action below:

AMC's The Walking Dead returns this Sunday February 12 at 9/8c. We'll definitely be on the edge of our seats for this one.

This week we received our Surface table which we are all really excited about. After the "unboxing ceremony", everyone had a lot of fun getting around the table and tossing around digital assets in our GLOBALedit App for Surface. Check out our video below of the arrival of the Surface. Still has that new Surface table smell!

When a Lightbox is created, an expiration date can be set so that after that date, the recipients of that Lightbox will no longer have access. A frequently asked question is, "How do I extend a Lightbox after it has expired?".
Only the user that originally created the Lightbox can extend expiration dates. Log in to your GLOBALedit account and go to Lightboxes. Hover over the Lightbox you wish to extend and click the grey drop-down arrow that appears and select view Lightbox users. This will bring up a list of Lightbox users and information about the Lightbox. Find the user(s) you wish to extend the Lightbox for and click Edit under the Permissions column. Click in the blank field under Lightbox Options to set a new expiration date and click Ok.

A big thank you to HBO for the really cool gifts! We especially enjoyed visiting their prohibition-era speakeasy HBO Shop that was staffed with 1920's style bouncers. Check out the HBO Shop @ 1100 Avenue of the Americas (42nd and 6th Ave) NYC.

Showtime's hit shows Shameless and Californication premiere new seasons this Sunday along with the series premiere of House of Lies. Showtime used GLOBALedit for gallery images, unit coverage, and talent approvals.

Shameless returns again for their second season! It's summertime and the Gallaghers of Chicago are cooking up fresh ways to bring home the bacon. Their ventures may not be moral — or even legal — but they certainly are outrageous.
Our sister company, Impact Digital produced the retouching artwork for Shameless.

The new series premiere of House of Lies is a story about how Marty Kaan and his crack team of MBA-toting management consultants are playing America's 1 percent for everything they've got. Starring Academy Award® Nominee Don Cheadle and Kristen Bell, nothing is sacred in House of Lies, a hilarious, irreverent send-up of corporate America today.
Industrial Color provided capture services for all of the publicity images for House of Lies.

Californication is returning this Sunday for its fifth season! Hank Moody, having barely escaped jail time at the end of Season 4, is enjoying his freedom in New York City, away from the madness of L.A. But a bad break-up and a call from his old pal Charlie about a job send him back to the left coast. Can Hank go home again and keep his sanity in tact?
Contact us for more information on how to use GLOBALedit to manage your gallery and unit image production, and check out our GLOBALedit App for iPad, perfect for talent approvals on the go.

Industrial Color will be attending National Retail Federation (NRF) 101st Annual Convention & EXPO on January 15th to 18th, 2012.
We will be joining Microsoft along with our Surface development partner SevenSteps to preview the industry's first digital table, which will work in real time with GLOBALedit.
The new Microsoft Surface multi-touch system, the Samsung SUR40, features a 40-inch HD 1080p screen and relies on PixelSense, which uses the pixels of the screen itself to act as cameras and register both human and object input.
The new Surface holds huge potential in the retail world as well as other communication and information based industries. We're excited to be involved with this new technology and believe it will be a revolutionary and innovative tool for photo and video production teams to create and collaborate on content.
Interested? Preview the Microsoft Surface 2 below.
The NRF Convention will be taking place January 15 - 18, 2012 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City. Visit the NRF site for more information on attending the convention for exclusive sneak peeks and demos on what's ahead for GLOBALedit. Stay tuned for official announcements soon!
